Well, the jailbreak is out. But, it is out in Mac OS X. Please... no offense to the Dev Team, we in the real world need it for Windows NOT Mac. Grr... It makes my blood boil just thinking about why there isn't a Windows version first!
Here goes. I am jailbreaking my iPhone 3GS 3.01 jailbroken phone to 3.1 using custom firmware downloaded on some download site from some forum. Apparently, it was cooked unactivated and has Cydia. I will never know since I didn't do it. Did you hear that Dev Team? I can't cook my own custom firmware since there is NO Pwnage Tool for Windows, which is 97% of the world's population that owns an iPhone. Darn.
Obviously, there are so many things that you have to be aware of. The risk of actually bricking your phone, getting 1600 errors, no signal etc. So, back up before you try this crazy thing.
Well, it took a lot of configurations and settings changing but in the end, it worked. But, it definitely took a few hours of my life which I will never get back.
There are a lot of VNC apps on the App Store. The mantra of "There is an App for that" really rings true. From last count, there were more than 21 of them VNC apps.
Ok. To use Jaadu VNC on your iPhone over 3G network goes something like this. Instructions after the jump.
Everyone wants to get in on the whole push emails business. Why are we so obsessed about push? Are we really that important that we need our emails instantaneously? Do we need a "badge" or "sound" to tell us we got an email from a random marketing company selling "New and Improved Viagra"?
To make everything simple; I have used GPush for a few weeks and it sucks. Install it and it will work for a few emails and then it dies. Reinstall it and reverify, and you get notifications for a few more emails. Then, it dies. So, repeat as before.
Can't someone just make push email work? I have a work Exchange account and hence I can't add another Exchange account on the damn iPhone.
